These researchers discovered that when parasite-contaminated water fleas were well fed, some of them suddenly became highly contagious, in comparison to when the food supply was limited. Scientists state that what stands out in their discovery is that under certain conditions, some individuals may be prone to spreading diseases than others.
Some water fleas that were given a solid amount of food were more infectious than others because they were able to survive longer with parasites in them, which allowed the parasites to have more time to multiply to greater amounts.
In my opinion, I find this discovery very interesting because it's cool to know that a certain amount of food supply can lead to something as crazy as spreading infectious diseases. This shocked me to know that scientists can actually investigate on an experiment like this. Researchers should continue these studies and maybe they might find new discoveries or patterns that can help them make new theories.
