In the book Romeo and Juliet written by Shakespeare, so far, Romeo's feelings have gradually changed throughout the book. Romeo gains different thoughts and opinions about love, as he talks ti new people. Some people in his family support him and his decisions with the girl he's in love with and others tell him to give up on her. In one scene, he's in love with a girl, and in the next he has forgotten about her.
Romeo told his cousin Benvolio that he was in love with this girl (Rosaline). (Act 1-scene 1) The only problem was that she didn't love him back. Benvolio's advice to him was to forget about her; there is plenty of other beautiful girls out in Verona for him. Romeo didn't give up on her though. He compared her to a summer's day, and said that her beauty is infinite. Romeo argued that she's to beautiful to die without passing on her beauty and genes to a new generation. Benvolio took Romeo to a party that the rich Capulet was having, and told him to check out other girls because Rosaline's beauty is nothing compared to the girls that are going to be at the party.
At the get together, Romeo was still thinking about Rosaline until someone new caught his eye. He had no clue who she was, but he asked her to dance anyway. Romeo immediately fell in love with her. He described it as 'love at first sight'. Her name was Juliet and it turned out that she was Capulet's daughter. (Act 1-scene 1) Romeo was shocked. As being a Montague, he had fallen in love with someone that he was supposed to be his enemy!!!
Now Romeo's thoughts are all based on Juliet. He has forgotten about Rosaline. Romeo plans on marrying Juliet. In this point of the book, Romeo's feelings aren't all over anymore. Now he's in love with only Juliet and plans on spending the rest of his life with her.
